OUR CANDLES

- All our candles are handcrafted, made from pure Natural Soy Wax, completely vegetable-based, non-toxic, and biodegradable.
- Each candle is designed, researched, poured, and individually packaged by hand, decorated with natural botanicals according to the fragrance. Soy wax is the only completely biodegradable vegetable wax, it does not pollute the environment and does not emit toxic fumes.
- Soy wax candles have a longer burning time.
- It washes off easily with hot water. Cups and containers can be reused once the candle has finished.

WARNINGS
  • To use and fully enjoy your candle safely, please follow these simple but important warnings:
  • 1.-Remove all packaging before use.
  • 2.-Remove any bulky internal decorations (such as the orange slice in "Sicily Connection"), even if natural, they could compromise the use of the candle, catch fire, or suffocate the wick.
  • 3.- Never use the candle without removing decorations.
  • 4.- Never leave a lit candle or wax melt warmer unattended.
  • 5.- Keep out of reach of children, pets, heat sources, or flammable objects.
  • 6.- Always use on a horizontal, heat-resistant surface.
  • 7.- Do not move or relocate the candle or wax melt warmer when they are lit.
  • 8.- Do not add oil to the wax melt warmer; only use soy wax melts, or water with essential oil drops.
  • 9.- Light candles for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours and no longer to prevent overheating and preserve the fragrance throw.
  • 10.- Use the candle until approximately 0.5cm of wax remains from the bottom and not beyond the emergence of the "wick holder" to prevent the flame from coming into contact with the bottom of the candle and overheating, or liquid wax from causing the wick to shift. If the wick moves, extinguish the candle immediately.
  • 11.- During use, ensure that the wick does not move, to prevent contact between the flame and the container wall, which could cause overheating or potential breakage. If this happens, reposition the wick to the center, always when the candle is unlit, using tweezers. Do not relight the candle until the wax has completely re-solidified.
  • We disclaim all responsibility for improper or incorrect use.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Every Amami candle is designed to accompany you over time.

Are Amami candles made from natural soy wax?

Yes. Our candles are made with natural, 100% vegetable soy wax, chosen for its cleaner burn and its ability to diffuse fragrance in a delicate and enveloping way.

Why choose a soy wax candle instead of paraffin?

Soy wax is a vegetable wax, biodegradable and more natural than paraffin. It burns at a lower temperature, lasts longer, and enhances the fragrance better.

Are Amami candles handmade?

Yes. Every Amami candle is the result of artisanal craftsmanship, carefully attended to in every detail: from the choice of fragrance to the pouring of the wax, up to the final finish.

What type of wick do you use?

We use pure cotton wicks, chosen to ensure an balanced burn and a stable flame, if the candle is used correctly.

How should a candle be properly used upon first lighting?

For the first lighting, we recommend allowing the entire surface of the wax to melt to the edges of the container. This helps to prevent the so-called central “tunneling” and improves the candle's longevity.

How long should I leave the candle lit?

We recommend keeping the candle lit for about 2-3 hours at a time, avoiding uses that are too short or too prolonged.

Do I need to trim the wick before each lighting?

Yes. Before relighting the candle, we recommend slightly trimming the wick to about 5 mm. This helps maintain a cleaner and more controlled flame.

Are the fragrances certified?

Yes. We use fragrances that comply with IFRA standards, selected to offer quality, safety, and a pleasant scent in rooms.

Do Amami candles still smell when unlit?

Yes, some fragrances can release a delicate olfactory note even when unlit, but the most intense diffusion occurs during lighting.

Where is the best place to position the candle?

We recommend placing it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, curtains, fabrics, and flammable materials.

Can I leave the candle lit unattended?

No. A lit candle should never be left unattended and must be kept away from children and pets.

How can I properly extinguish the candle?

It is preferable to extinguish the candle with a snuffer or by gently blowing on it, avoiding wax splashes. Before closing or moving it, wait for the wax to fully solidify.
